A bit annoying
|
I use it with my iPod touch.
Bad Point 1) It's quite a bulky thing. It sticks in your cigarette lighter, but it falls either way when you do a corner quickly.
Bad Point 2) It goes to loud static for about 15 seconds after about 30 seconds of playing whenever I start my car as if it popped out of the cigarette lighter, but it hasn't.
Bad Point 3) It has a high pitched hum. Barely audible, but it's there. This can be extra annoying if I need the volume to be turned up for audio books, spoken podcasts, etc.
Bad Point 4) It always resets to 86.1 MHz whenever I restart my car. What's the point in having a range of frequencies, when it always resets to the same one. It does have a hit-and-miss clear frequency scan, but the display is on top, where I cannot see it without putting my head up to my windshield. Then find the "clear" frequency on the car radio. But of course, when I restart my car...86.1 MHz.
Bad Point 5) Remote is useless. Works half the time and must be pointed at the back of the unit to work best. I actually have to move my hand farther that the unit to make the remote work?
Good Point 1) A helluva lot cheaper than apple products.
Good Point 2) Really cheaper than apple products.
Good Point 3) 86.1 MHz is a pretty clear channel in my city.
Good Point 4) Strong flexible arm on the unit. However, it can only be withing about a 45 degree arc because it the unit will fall if it is too far left or right of straight up and down.
Good Point 5) Less expensive than apple products.
